I've been applying and haven't had any positive responses

Written by Juana

Not seeing responses after applying can be discouraging — especially when you've put in the effort. The job market is competitive, and results depend on many factors outside AIApply's control, including employer response times, hiring cycles, and demand for your target roles.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Response times vary widely depending on the employer and the role.

  • Check your inbox regularly — filter by Assessment invite and Interview invite to make sure you haven't missed any responses.

If you're not seeing results after several weeks, try:

  • Making your criteria more flexible to increase the number of matching jobs

  • Adding full remote as a location option alongside your preferred city or country to access more opportunities

  • Adding similar job titles to your target role — slight variations can open up significantly more matches

  • Considering customized resumes and cover letters — tailored applications can improve how well your materials align with each role

  • Reconsidering your application mode — if you're getting a high volume of poor matches in Auto mode, switching to Hybrid or Review gives you more control over quality
