Connect AIApply to your AI assistant

In this article you’ll learn how AIApply works with Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other AI assistants, what the assistant can do, what it can’t, and how your data is handled.

You can connect your AIApply account to the AI assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex. Then you can ask it about your job search: find new roles, check what’s waiting for your review, see how your applications are going, and, if you allow it, add jobs or send applications for you.

AIApply is available in Claude’s Connectors Directory and in the ChatGPT and Codex plugin directory.

What you need

  • An AIApply account. Searching jobs and reading your applications works with any account.

  • An active Auto Apply plan with credits if you want the assistant to add jobs or send applications. Each application uses one credit.

  • A Claude, ChatGPT or Codex account.

What your assistant can do

By default, a connected assistant can only read. It can:

  • Search AIApply’s job index

  • List the applications waiting for your review

  • List the applications AIApply has already sent, with their status

  • Read the cover letter AIApply wrote for an application, unless it contains contact details or other sensitive information

  • Check your Auto Apply preferences, and give you the link to the page where you change them

  • Check your plan and how many credits you have left

Each extra permission is a separate tick on the connection screen. The assistant only gets the ones you tick:

  • Adding jobs — add a job it finds to your queue, already approved, so AIApply applies for it. This uses a credit and can’t be undone.

  • Applying — approve an application waiting for your review, which sends it to the employer. This uses a credit and can’t be undone.

  • Pausing and resuming — stop or restart your automatic applications. Resuming starts using credits again.

  • Reading your mailbox — see who has written to your AIApply mailbox, the subject line, when it arrived and which application it relates to. It never sees the message itself, attachments or the sender’s email address.

Before adding a job, sending an application, or pausing or resuming, the assistant has to show you what it’s about to do and get your confirmation.

What your assistant can never do

  • Change your job preferences (it gives you the link instead)

  • Write or edit an application

  • Read the content of your emails or open attachments

  • Delete anything

  • See your CV file or your answers to employer questions

Things to try

Once connected, you can ask your assistant things like:

  • “Find remote product designer jobs in Germany.”

  • “What’s waiting for my review in AIApply?”

  • “How are my job applications going?”

  • “Show me the cover letter for my latest application.”

  • “How many credits do I have left?”

  • “Has anyone replied to my applications?” (needs mailbox access)

Your data

What the assistant receives is what’s listed above. It’s sent to the company that runs your assistant (for example OpenAI or Anthropic), which handles it under its own privacy policy, including how long it keeps your conversations. AIApply never shares your CV file, your answers to employer questions, the content of your emails or your senders’ email addresses. For full details, see the “Connected AI assistants” section of our Privacy Policy.
