The tool is applying to jobs outside my criteria
It's possible for some jobs to fall slightly outside your stated criteria. A few things to keep in mind:
Check the match rating — Top Match and Strong Match indicate strong alignment with the job posting. The rating is calculated based on your stated preferences, work experience, and other matching criteria. Even with a Top Match rating, specific skill gaps or mismatches may be highlighted to give you insight into areas where your profile may not perfectly align with the job requirements.
Match ratings may shift over time — after the first week, you may see more Good and Potential Matches in your queue. This isn't because your profile got weaker — it's because the strongest matches were applied to in the first few days, and we gradually widen the range to keep opportunities flowing.
Adjust your criteria or mode — review your criteria and consider making it more flexible, or switch to Hybrid mode (higher-rated jobs only) or Review mode (full manual approval) for more control.
Always give a reason when declining — the AI learns from your choices and will reduce that type of suggestion going forward. Inaccuracies in the Job Fit view, such as misidentified skills or mismatches, do not affect what's submitted to employers. These discrepancies are limited to the Job Fit view and are not transferred into the job application forms that employers receive.
I've been applying and haven't had any positive responses
This is a common concern — the job market is competitive, and results take time. A few things to keep in mind:
Employers typically take up to two weeks to respond. Be patient, especially in the first two weeks.
Check your inbox regularly — filter by Assessment invite and Interview invite to make sure you haven't missed any responses.- Monitor the email address associated with your AIApply account frequently, and check spam or junk folders for missed "Assessment invite" or "Interview invite" messages.
Complete any pending assessments promptly, as many employers require these to be completed before scheduling interviews.
If you're not seeing results after a few weeks, try:
Make your criteria more flexible to increase the number of matching jobs
Add "full remote" as a location option alongside your preferred city or country to access more opportunities
Add similar job titles to your target role — slight variations can open up significantly more matches For example, if you are targeting HR roles, consider roles like HR Coordinator, People Operations Specialist, or Compliance Specialist to broaden your opportunities.
Consider tailored resumes and cover letters — tailored applications have a strong impact on response rates
Reconsider your application mode — if you're getting a high volume of poor matches in Auto mode, switching to Hybrid or Review gives you more control over quality Regularly review and refine your profile to ensure it accurately reflects your skills and experience, as this can improve the quality of job matches.
