What is Interview Buddy?

Interview Buddy is a desktop app that supports you in real time during your job interviews. It listens to the interviewer and provides on-the-go assistance so you can answer questions more confidently.

The app is designed to be invisible to screen sharing, so the interviewer or any other participants won’t see it if you’re asked to share your screen.

Interview Buddy is available on Windows and macOS, and can be downloaded directly from the website.

Important: the desktop app only detects audio from the interviewer, not your microphone. If you test the app alone, it won’t pick up any audio — this doesn’t mean it’s broken. The app works as expected during actual interviews, when someone else is speaking.

Interview Buddy plan options

Interview Buddy is available on two subscription plans:

  • Monthly: USD 19 per month.

  • Yearly: USD 99 per year.

How is Interview Buddy usage measured?

Interview Buddy offers unlimited usage on both the Monthly and Yearly plans. This means:

  • There's no limit on the number of interviews you can run.

  • There's no limit on the length of each session.

The only difference between the Monthly and Yearly plans is the billing frequency and overall price (see "Interview Buddy plan options" for details). The features and usage allowance are exactly the same on both.

Interview Buddy vs Mock Interviews: which should I use?

Interview Buddy and Mock Interviews are two different interview-related features designed for different stages of your job search:

  • Interview Buddy assists you during a live interview in real time, supporting you while the actual conversation with the employer is happening.

  • Mock Interviews helps you practice and prepare before the actual interview takes place. You answer simulated questions, receive feedback, and refine your responses on your own time.

In short: use Mock Interview to rehearse, and Interview Buddy when you’re in the real interview.
