Interview Buddy didn't work during my interview — what now?

In this article you'll find what to do if Interview Buddy didn't work during a real interview, including how to reach support and how to prepare for future sessions.

If Interview Buddy didn't work as expected during a live interview, we're sorry. We know how much preparation goes into an interview, and having the tool fail in that moment is frustrating.

Here's what to do next.

Reach out to support

Contact support through the website chat and share:

  • The date and approximate time of the interview

  • The company name and role you were interviewing for

  • The video platform used (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.)

  • A brief description of what happened — for example, no audio, delayed responses, the app didn't launch, or transcription didn't appear

The more detail you can share, the faster we can investigate and follow up with you.

Before your next interview

To reduce the chance of an issue happening again, we recommend testing your setup in advance:

  • Test the app with a practice call before your real interview

  • Confirm audio and microphone permissions are enabled

  • Check that your video platform is supported (see the Setting Up Interview Buddy article)

If you'd like to walk through a setup check with our team, reach out through the website chat and we'll help you prepare.
