How to Update and Set Your Resume for Auto Apply in AIApply

Set the right resume version as your default and choose between tailored or original. Includes troubleshooting when applications use an outdated file.

Written by Sofía

Auto Apply in AIApply streamlines your job search by automatically submitting your resume to selected job postings. To ensure the correct version of your resume is used, follow the steps below.

Updating your resume to use Tailoring

  1. Go to the Resumes section in your account.

  2. Open the resume you want to update and make the necessary changes.

  3. Once edited, click Use for Auto Apply to set this version as the default for future applications.

Setting a new resume from Preferences

  1. Go to Preferences > Quick Settings.

  2. Upload or select the resume you want to use.

  3. Click Use this resume to activate it as the default for Auto Apply.

Note: If you'd rather apply with your original resume instead of a tailored version, you can Pause Auto-Tailor. Just make sure the resume you want is uploaded here and selected under Use in Applications—Auto Apply will then submit it as-is, without tailoring it for each job.

Troubleshooting

If your applications are still using an older resume, make sure to check the following:

Verify which resume is being used

If you're unsure which resume is being submitted with your applications, go to Preferences > Quick Settings and confirm that the correct resume is selected under Use in Applications. If a different resume is selected, choose the correct one and save your changes before submitting any new applications.

Check resume format

Auto Apply works best with resumes created or edited directly in the AIApply editor. Uploaded PDF or Word files may not be fully parsed or tailored. If you uploaded a new file, edit or recreate it in the AIApply editor and then set it as the default resume.

Submit a new application

After updating your resume, submit a new job application and review the submitted documents to confirm that the correct version was used.

Best practices

  • Always use the AIApply editor to create or edit your resume to ensure full compatibility with Auto Apply.

  • Keep your resume updated with your most recent experience, skills, and achievements.

By following these steps, you can ensure that Auto Apply always uses the most up-to-date version of your resume across all automated applications.
