The Auto-Apply feature in AIApply is designed to streamline job applications by automatically searching for and submitting applications on your behalf. However, there are several reasons why it might not function as expected. Below, we outline common issues and their resolutions to help you get the most out of this feature.
Common Reasons for Auto-Apply Not Working
1. Pending Approvals
Auto-Apply pauses when there are jobs in your account that are awaiting your approval. This ensures that no new applications are submitted until you review and decide on the pending jobs. To resolve this:
Open your applications list.
Use the filter menu to select the "Waiting" status.
Approve or reject all pending jobs to resume Auto-Apply functionality.
2. Paused Queue
If the Auto-Apply queue is paused, applications will not be submitted. To fix this:
Check your Auto-Apply queue status in the dashboard.
Resume the queue to start processing applications again.
3. Time Delays
After approving jobs, there is a processing delay before applications are submitted. Auto-Apply typically takes 6–10 hours to transition jobs from "approved" to "applied." If you’re within this time frame, allow the system to complete the process.
4. Manual Mode or Conflicting Settings
If Auto-Apply is set to Manual mode, applications will not be sent automatically. Additionally, conflicting or overly broad location filters can reduce valid matches. To address this:
Switch to Automatic mode in your settings.
Review and adjust your saved locations and filters to ensure they align with your job search criteria.
5. Daily Application Limit Reached
Auto-Apply will pause if you reach the daily application limit, even if you still have credits remaining. The feature will automatically resume the next day when the daily limit resets.
6. Invalid or Non-Machine-Readable Resume
The Auto-Apply queue may pause if your uploaded resume is invalid or not machine-readable. This can happen due to:
Complex or uncommon formatting
PDFs saved as scanned images instead of machine-readable files. Simplify your resume formatting by using standard fonts, consistent headings, and avoiding text boxes, images, columns, or excessive styling.
Save or export your resume as a machine-readable PDF or upload a DOCX version.
Reupload the updated resume to your profile. Once a readable resume is uploaded, the Auto-Apply queue should automatically resume.
7. Overdue Subscription
If your Auto-Apply subscription is overdue, the feature will stop working as credits will not refresh. Solution:
Verify your subscription status and ensure your payment is up to date. Once the subscription is renewed, credits will refresh, and Auto-Apply will resume.
Managing Auto-Apply Settings
Pausing Auto-Apply
You can pause the Auto-Apply feature through your dashboard:
Open your Auto Apply dashboard.
Use the Auto-Apply controls to pause the feature. Alternatively, you can switch the tool to review mode, where applications are not sent automatically. In review mode, you must approve each job before an application is submitted.
Stopping Auto-Apply
If you wish to stop Auto-Apply entirely after accepting a job or for any other reason:
Cancel your Auto-Apply subscription in your account settings. This will prevent new applications and future charges.
Note that you can continue using Auto-Apply until the end of your current billing period after cancellation.
Regularly check your dashboard for application statuses and any alerts.
Ensure your account settings, such as filters and modes, are configured correctly.
