Why did an application fail to submit?

In this article you'll learn why an application might not go through, what happens to your credit when it fails, and what to do if you're still seeing failures.

Occasionally, an application may fail to submit — for example, when a job posting expires mid-submission, the employer's application system rejects the format, or the form itself has an issue we can't work around.

Does a failed application use a credit?

No. A credit is only counted when an application is successfully submitted. If something fails after we try — a site error, form issue, expired posting, or any other blocker — that attempt doesn't spend a credit.

What we've improved

We've resolved several common issues that were previously blocking submissions, including silent form failures, upload timing errors, and consent checkbox blockers. As a result, more applications now go through successfully on the first attempt.

What to do if you're still seeing failures

Make sure your resume is in a standard format (PDF is usually best), readable, and not corrupted. Then review your profile to confirm that key fields like full name, phone number, and location are filled in correctly.

If you're seeing frequent or repeated failures for the same jobs, contact support so we can investigate.
