How to add another role

In this article you'll learn how to run multiple Auto Apply job searches in parallel, each with its own résumé, criteria, and queue.

Add another role lets you run more than one Auto Apply job search at the same time, each with its own résumé, locations, and job preferences. This is useful if you're targeting different types of roles that don't share the same criteria, for example, Backend roles in Berlin and Fullstack roles in London.

How it works

Each role you add is a completely independent search. It has its own:

  • Résumé

  • Job preferences and criteria

  • Queue and application history

  • Inbox

  • Match ratings and feedback

Roles don't share credits, matches, or settings — what you do on one role doesn't affect the other.

Adding a new role

In the top-left corner of the interface, open the Your roles menu and click Add another role.

Adding a new role requires a new subscription. You can choose the same plan you already have, or a plan with more or fewer credits — whichever fits the volume you need for that role. For example, if your current plan is 100 credits for $49/month, you could add:

  • Another 100-credit plan for $49/month

  • A 250-credit plan for $99/month

  • Or any other available plan that fits your needs

Each role's subscription is billed independently, so you can size them separately based on how actively you're pursuing that type of role.

Switching between roles

Once you have more than one role set up, use the Your roles menu in the top-left corner to switch between them. Your selection applies across the entire platform:

  • Queue — you'll only see jobs matched to the selected role

  • Inbox — you'll only see emails related to that role's applications

  • Preferences — any changes you make apply only to the selected role

  • All other settings tied to that role

To edit criteria or update the résumé for a specific role, switch to that role first and then make your changes.

When adding another role is useful

Adding another role works best when your target roles are different enough that a single set of criteria wouldn't serve both well. Common examples:

  • Different job families (e.g., Product Manager vs Engineering Manager)

  • Different locations that require separate résumé versions

  • Different seniority levels

  • Different industries where the résumé positioning changes

If your different targets share most of the same criteria and résumé, a single Auto Apply subscription with broader preferences is usually simpler.
